As if a 7.2 magnitude earthquake last October wasn’t enough, the central region of the Philippines was hit by another disaster, a 295 kph typhoon on November 8, 2013. Supertyphoon Yolanda (International name: Haiyan), one of the most powerful storms ever recorded, smashed the central part of the Philippines and left hundreds of millions of destroyed of properties, death toll at around 4000, and over 650,000 displaced survivors desperate for food and shelter among others.

I am honored to be a part of this event and help out as much as I can!!

As bloggers, we thought we could help these people by throwing this huge fundraising giveaway -- a way we are all very familiar with. We have already raised $515 from this event and continuing to receive more donations through GoGetFunding.com. There will be a turnover of funds to a legitimate organizations that buys, repacks, and hands out relief goods directly to the victims. You can visit one of the host blogs for updates on the fund transfer in about a week or two.

If you wish to donate, you may do so by clicking this link.

I am struggling to answer this question because nobody has ever done anything exceptional for me. But I am incredibly blessed to have my children so them telling me they love me makes it beautiful.

A friend just bought me some very expensive tickets to an event I was dying to go to and could not in any way shape or form afford. They did it selflessly and I was so thankful.

I broke down one night in a drive thru. The person in the car behind me helped me push my car and then they went into the store and paid for my dinner.

My adopted older sister has the ability to know when I'm feeling down. She will immediately offer to fix my hair, listen to my problems, offer advice and keep me in her prayers. She rocks!

My parents have been here for the past 4 years that I've been home ill with Crohn's, anytime I need them they are there, my mom helps me clean my house and make my meals, they are awesome!

When I was returning soda bottles to be able to pay for a tank of gas, three different people came in and with out any comments from me and with out even knowing me, gave me their bottle return slips. There is still a lot of kindness in this world!!

Once when I was a young adult, I had a flat tire on the interstate. I was so freaked out. I had no cell phone back then and no idea how to change a tire. Within minutes an older gentleman pulled up and changed my tire. I was so appreciative.

Several years ago we had a blizzard on Christmas. We were driving home (slowly) from my parents' house. We told the kids we would carry them in, and then we were going out to shovel so we could pull the car into the driveway. When we got to our house, the driveway was clear. The neighbor used his snowblower to clean our driveway for us.
