Extreme Couponing Season 2 First Episodes

Ok so I watched both new episodes.  The first one wasn't too bad.

The first lady was crazy with her stock pile.  She had a separate locked room just for cookies and candy.  Who needs that much junk food??

When she went on her shopping trip, she still used an absurd amount of coupons that no store would ever really take, and she bought more junk food, but all in all she wasn't the worst I have ever seen.

The second couponer was actually two ladies competing to see who could save the most percentage wise.  The lady who lost bought more reasonable items.  The one who won bought 100 candy bars.  Again who needs that much junk, and what store allows you to use that many coupons??

The second new episode started out with a lady who was trying to help her sister spend the least amount for her wedding.  A noble thing to do.

This women also had a ridiculously large stock pile (to me its hoarding)  She had a lot of items that will expire rather quickly.

When they go shopping she was buying reasonable items, but she had to do it in 16 separate transactions.  That's kind of crazy!!!

It was very nice that she did all that for her sister's wedding.

The second couponer learned from her Grandmother which might not be a good thing.

I am assuming that her Grandmother grew up during war time, so of course they stocked up and kept everything.  My Husbands Nana was like that.  When she passed away and we helped clean out her house, she had meat in her freezer that was at least 30 years old.

This women was taught to have at least a years worth of stuff.  Meat can only last for 6 months in the freezer.  So either they are eating it with in that time, or they are eating bad meat.

She again has an extremely large stock pile that to me seems way too much.

When they go shopping, they are making 21 separate orders.  I have done 5 separate orders (and there was three of us) in one trip before, but not 21.

They bought 80 tubes of toothpaste.  Toothpaste does go bad.  Who needs that much??

They also bought 32 bottles of soda.  That is an awful lot of sugar.

How much is too much??  What do you think??

This sounds really interesting.  I checked to see if it's available in my area yet, but it's not.  I signed up, and will see what it's like as soon as I can.

Exclusive Content produced by Mark Burnett’s VIMBY, Has Built-In National Audience of 15 Million Cable Households

For the first time in television history, viewers using the Internet or a mobile device (Android now available, iPhone coming soon) can be on television and participate in the programming with a few simple clicks. Youtoo™ Social TV, developed revolutionary technology to change the way Americans engage with TV. Youtoo TV launches with a programming line-up that features fan favorites, including The X Files, Batman, and Green Hornet.

Mark Burnett explains, “As a TV producer, I love nothing more than finding the next big thing. When I put Survivor on television, no one, including me, knew how popular reality television would become. Now, Youtoo is paving the way for social TV, which is the next generation of television...”

Youtoo developed this proprietary technology, which allows viewers to record and submit videos that are the filtered for content and broadcast on TV. This automated process enables anyone, from anywhere, with Internet access or a mobile device to be on TV within minutes.

DreamWorks Real Steel Movie Review

I have to be 100% honest.  When I heard about this movie, I said "This will be the new version of Rocky" and I knew it wouldn't interest me.

Ben wanted to see it (he loves action fighting movies) so when I was given the chance to see an advance screening, I said sure so Ben could see it.  Ironically, the day we were supposed to go, Ben had to work and couldn't go.  I took my sister instead.  I still was not that interested to see it.

When we sat down to watch the movie, with in 5 minutes we were hooked.  The whole audience was.

I have been to many movies before, and I have never seen a movie make the audience become so emotionally involved before ever.

Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, and Evangeline Lilly steal your heart right away.

Hugh Jackman (Charlie Kenton) is a former boxer.  Human boxing no longer exists, so to try to keep up with changing times, Charlie fights his robots.  Unfortunately for Charlie, he is having a hard time winning and making ends meet.

When he meets up with his son Max (Dakota Goyo) in a strange turn of events, the two join forces to create a winning robot.

Max finds Atom in a scrap yard, and they teach him how to box just like Charlie did.

This movie made me laugh a lot, and actually tear up!!

The ending was really good (no I will not tell you!!) and left the movie open for a sequel  (I hope, I hope!!!)

My opinion changed dramatically about this movie.  It was well worth seeing, and I will be taking Ben to see it opening night.

P.s.  Towards the end of the movie, there was a technical issue at the theater, and the sound went out.  I have never seen so many people jump up and down anxious for it to come back on (I was one of them!!!)  As I said, you can't help but get emotionally attached!!!

Real Steel opens October 7th!!  Don't miss it!!

Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Survivor Fantasy Game Week 3

It's going to be interesting to see how the blue team plays together now.

I think the redemption island duel will be interesting.  My money is on Christine.

The balancing challenges are hard.  You have to have a lot of upper body strength for it!!

I liked all the eye rolls towards Semhar when she was reciting her poetry!!

Semhar lost her totem first so she is out of the game.  Her speech was strange.

Wow I can't believe that Brandon told everyone he is a Hantz.  He is putting a huge target on his back now.

Why do people think it's a good idea to tell someone that they have the idol??  It never works in their favor.  Ozzy told one person and soon the whole tribe will know.

Brandon keeps opening his mouth.  That is soooo going to get him in trouble.

I agree with Coach that Brandon is a liability.

I like the reward for the challenge.  I would not survive on the island for 39 days without tea!!!  lol

The red team is horrible with giving Ozzy enough rope.  Then they come back!!

Coach was awesome at the hooking.  He kicked butt on that part of the challenge.  The blue team all did well.

Poor Papa bear and Cochran.  That's what I hate the most about the game is all the lying and not knowing if it's you or not.

Papa bear was hilarious.  He pretends to have found the idol.  Now the team doesn't know what to do, and Ozzy doesn't want to tell anyone he is the one who has the idol.

Even after all the comments during tribal, I have a feeling that Papa bear is still going to redemption.

That's sad.  I liked Papa bear.  Lets see if he can stay in the game against Christine next week.

That was nice that Papa bear didn't vote for Cochran.

I hate to do this but I have to say goodbye to Dina K.  Thank you for playing!!

See you next week!!

Tropical Traditions Coconut Flour Review And ~~Giveaway~~

Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour is fiber from the coconut meat after most of the oil has been extracted to make Virgin Coconut Oil. It is certified organic, unsweetened, and has not been treated with sulfites. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour is high in dietary fiber and protein, and is gluten-free. It has more fiber than gluten-based grains. Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour can be added to standard wheat-based recipes to add extra fiber, by substituting 10-30% of the grain-based flour with our coconut flour. Some recipes, such as muffins and quick breads, can be accomplished with 100% Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour and therefore be 100% gluten-free! (See some free recipes below.) Since organic coconut flour contains natural sugar from the coconut meat, baked goods need less sugar added. The organic coconut flour has a mildly sweet coconut taste!

Tropical Traditions organic coconut flour also contains over 19% non-gluten protein! Therefore, it makes an excellent addition to shakes and smoothies where fiber and protein are needed. Or simply dissolve a spoonful in water as a high-fiber drink with a coconut flavor! This organic coconut flour is very versatile and very tasty. Sprinkle it over your favorite dishes to add a wonderful coconut flavor, use it as a thickener in soups and sauces - the possibilities are endless!

I love Tropical Traditions.  I have not tried a bad product from them yet!!!

I am a huge coconut fan.  Anything coconut to me is yummy!!!

When I was given the chance to try their Coconut Flour, I instantly started thinking of interesting recipes to use it in!

I first started by making brownies.  I used the coconut flour, and added extra coconut on top.  YUMMY!!!

Then we tried mixed fruit muffins with fresh strawberries and blueberries.  Again delicious.

We have a little bit of the flour left, so Ben is going to try it with a main dish.  He hasn't figured out what yet, but I can't wait!!

Tropical Traditions is offering one of you the chance to try the coconut flour as well!!!

TLC's Extreme Couponing Season 2 Starts Tonight- What Do You Think??

TLC's hit show Extreme Couponing season 2 starts tonight (10pm est.)  Are you going to watch it??

I find myself drawn to the show, even though it drives me nuts!!!

Let me explain.  I am a couponer.  I use them for as many items as I can.

I love to hit Target.  That's where I save the most money.  I do save quite a lot at the grocery stores too, but not as much.

Here is a shopping trip I took to Target the other day and all it cost me was $7.50.

Here is why the show drives me nuts.  The items above are things I need and/or will use with in a couple weeks.  I DO NOT go crazy and buy junk that I don't need or will never use (unless I can donate it to the Salvation Army or my local Food Bank)

The very first episode of this show that I saw, I watched a lady get 75 bottles of Mustard and over 100 bottles of aspirin.  Who needs that much??  She didn't even donate any of it.

Now both Mustard and Aspirin do have expiration dates.  You may be able to use them a little while after that date, but who really needs that much, or could use that much with in a reasonable time frame??  NO ONE!!!

I hate the episodes with these people.  These episodes are FAKE!!!  None of my local stores allow me to use more then 5 (some 4) of the same coupon in one transaction.  Now I admit, if I can get an awesome deal, I will have two maybe three transactions, but these people on this show use 100's of the same coupons in one transaction.

Also, where do they get these extremely high value coupons??  I see some of them with $6.00 off coupons.  You never see those in my area.

What makes me watch the show is the decent people who buy only items they need/will use and the ones who donate a lot of items to charity.

So to me there are plus' to the show and then there are the downsides.

I also think that sense the show started, the coupons I can get have dwindled.  I used to get free toilet paper, laundry detergent, and deodorant.  I have not gotten any free toilet paper in over 5 months.

I would love to know what you think.  Is this show a good thing, bad thing, or you just don't care!!!

Amazing Race Fantasy Game Episode 1

Sorry this is late everyone.  I was away on Sunday and for some strange reason the DVR didn't record the show.  I had to wait until CBS posted it on their site!!!

I still think Phil is really cute!!!

Wow, I am silly.  I didn't realize that Ethan and Jenna were from survivor.  I am getting old!!!

I like Bill and Cathi already.  They are sooo cute.  Grandparents!!

Wow this first challenge is hard.  With my luck, if Ben and I ran the race we would be first out.  I don't like the word challenges where you have to figure out the phrase.  Especially when it is a foreign country!!

I want a Ford Explorer!!!!  We used to have one years ago.  We called her Big Red.  She was a great car!!

That's interesting.  They have a new challenge called a Hazard.  The team that comes in last will have to complete it at some point during this leg.  They aren't just eliminating them right off the bat!!

Wow Andy and Tommy got that pretty quickly!!  Good for them!!

Poor Kaylani and Lisa are the last team to get the umbrella.  I can't wait to see what their Hazard challenge is going to be!!

Then they stopped to get directions and lost one of their passports.  That is not good!!

They drove all the way back to the gas station and still couldn't find it.  That's not good.  They will not be able to continue!!

That's funny that Ethan and Jenna are trying to hide the fact that they were on Survivor, but the other teams all know!!!

That was soooo nice of those two guys to find the passport, and bring it to the airport.  Wow some people are great!!!

The first clue in Taiwan (to look up) is tough.  That billboard is hard to tell.  I like how Jenna and Ethan are looking at the street workers in their yellow and red hats, and Andy and Tommy are looking at the guy with red and yellow boxers!!

Finally some of the teams figured it out.  That still is really hard!!

The Confucius challenge doesn't sound too bad.  They need to listen to a proverb from him on the phone and then re site it word for word with out taking notes.

Ok maybe that isn't as easy as I thought it would be!!  I tried to memorize it, and I couldn't!!!  lol

Cindy did really well.  She got it pretty quickly!!

Wow Bill and Cathi are way off!!!  Not good!!

Riding in the Dragon boats looks like fun.  I would like that challenge!!

Wow the Martyrs Shrine has a changing of the guard every hour.  I would like to see that.

Kaylani and Lisa's Hazard challenge is for them to travel to a mall, go to the 11th floor and find their next clue.  It seems simple, but that could add a lot of time to their race.

Oh and one of them also has to bungee jump in the mall.  Interesting!!  Ben would be doing that challenge!!!  Not me!!!

Good for Cindy and Ernie.  They were the first team to arrive so they get the express pass!!!

It took Bill and Cathi over four hours to figure out the balloon clue.  That's not good!!

Liz and Marie are really bad at the memorizing the phrase challenge.

Wow Cathi did really well at the memorizing challenge.  She got it on her first try!!!

Bill and Cathi were very lucky that this was a non elimination leg.  I have never seen that.  Some team always goes!!  They are very lucky.

Ohh a double elimination comes next week.  That should be interesting!!!

So I don't need to say goodbye to anyone!!!

See you all on Sunday!!!

Forever Texas Book Tour/Review And ~~Giveaway~~

Nikki Hunt thought her night couldn't get worse when her no-good, cheating ex ditched her at dinner, sticking her with the bill. Then she found his body stuffed in the trunk of her car and lost her two-hundred-dollar meal all over his three-thousand-dollar suit. Now not only is Nikki nearly broke, she's a murder suspect.
Former cop turned PI, Dallas O'Connor knows what it's like to be unjustly accused. But one look at the sexy-though skittish-suspect tells him she couldn't hurt anyone. The lead detective, Dallas's own brother, has the wrong woman and Dallas hopes a little late-night "undercover" work will help him prove it . . .

What would you do if you ex-husband who cheated on you shows up dead in your trunk??

I know I would do what Nikki did- throw up!!!!!

Poor Nikki has not had a good night.  She meets with her ex-husband for dinner, he runs off and she is stuck with the bill (which she can't afford)

She then starts to feel really sick so she goes to the drug store for meds.  As she is opening her trunk to throw them in, she happens to find her ex (Jack) dead in the trunk.

Oh her night is just starting!!!

She is accused of murder, throws up on a really hot guy (twice,) and then finds out she was poisoned and her best friend has been stabbed.

Can this get any worse??  Maybe a little!!!

The man that Nikki throws up on is actually Dallas O'Conner, a former cop turned PI who wants to help her.

Dallas is a good guy who also had a really bad strain of luck.  He was accused of murder too and spent 18 months in jail!!!

Dallas and Nikki are such lovable characters that you rout for them the whole book!!!  There are also many other great characters like Tony the hard nosed cop, his estranged wife LeAnn and of course the other two PI's Austin and Tyler!!

HE'S THE MAN OF HER DREAMS . . .

In a world full of frogs, Alison Carter is determined to find her prince. Maybe her dating past is more Titanic than Love Boat, but she's seen enough happy marriages to know that true love is possible. No matter what, she won't give up on happily-ever-after. If she can't find Mr. Right, she'll simply hire someone who can.

SHE JUST DOESN'T KNOW IT YET

When Brandon Scott inherits a successful matchmaking business, he thinks his prayers have been answered. Set up a few lonely ladies, collect the fee, how hard can it be? No one needs to know he's not really a professional matchmaker-especially not his first client, the beautiful, spirited Alison. Soon he's falling for her-and her dreams of kids and carpools. But Alison is getting close to figuring out his secret, and if she learns he's deceived her too, she'll walk right out the door, taking Brandon's heart with her.

This is the second book in Jane Graves series and I love it just as much as the first one!!!

I have read quite a few of her books, and they are always well written, on the seat of your pants stories!!!

Alison Carter is having a really bad run of luck with finding a Husband.   The last couple guys she dated blew their nose in a cloth napkin, itched themselves in public, and tried to get her to have a three way instead of proposing marriage!!!  Oh and don't forget the one who was gay!!

Alison is at her wits end and she doesn't know what to do.  She knows she is not a Marilyn Monroe type, but she is smart, attractive, has her own money etc.  What is wrong with her??

After watching her friend Heather have a perfect marriage with her Husband Tony (the first book- Tall Tales and Wedding Veils,) Alison is more then ready for her happily ever after.

She heads to a match maker as a last resort.  When she arrives, Madame Rochelle turns out to be her Grandson Brandon!!

Alison doesn't know if she should use a man to find her a man, but she gives him a shot.

Brandon is not really trying to keep his Grandmothers business alive.  All he wants is to raise enough money to restart his real estate business.

He does keep his promise though, and sets Alison up on many absolutely horrible dates!!  Wait till you read what these guys are like!!!

This book is full of sooooo much humor, that you never stop laughing!!!  I even read parts to Hubby and he was laughing!!!

These are both great books that will make you laugh and at times cry a little!!!

If you would like to be one of the 3 lucky followers to win a copy of each book, use the rafflecopter form below!!

Do You Believe In Urban Legends??

zwani.com myspace graphic comments

With Halloween next month (and some great giveaways coming up) I thought it would be fun to start posting a little about Halloween.

I have always loved this holiday!!!  We all dress up, and get to beg people for candy!!!  lol

Here is an Urban Legend I just read about, that I think is scary but could be true.

Strange Smells From The Hotel Bed

Urban Legend: A couple check into a remote hotel and smell a strange, rotting smell coming from the bed. After complaining to the desk clerk, they discover that a dead body has been stashed in the box springs. Unfortunately, this tale has true roots.
 The Story:

Most of these stories take place at a Las Vegas, Nevada hotel either in the city or in the desert in a remote location. They have been around since the early 1990s. There have been cases like this actually happen around the country. Under the bed or in the pedestal for a matters makes a great quick hiding place for a dead body that needs to be stashed out of the way. In each case, it wasn't until the smell brought attention to the body, that it was discovered.

Some Examples:

On June10th, 1999, the rapidly decomposing body of a 64-year-old man was discovered inside the bed in Room 112 at the Burgundy Motor Inn in Atlantic City, New Jersey. A German couple on vacation had spent the night sleeping over the man's remains and had put up with a rank smell all night. It was their complaint to the manager about the smell which led to the discovery of the corpse.

In July of 1996, a woman's body was found under a mattress in the Colorado Boulevard Travelodge in Pasadena, CA. The motel's staff discovered her ten days after her death after a guest had complained for several days of a foul odor coming from that room.

In Virginia in 1989, a man, disposed of the remains of his two murder victims this way: the first was a 27-year-old woman, who was discovered in May under the floor of a motel room on Route 1, the second was a 29-year-old woman, who turned up in June under a bed in the Alexandria Econo Lodge. In the first case, the killer first kept her body partially hidden under his bed for two days, then subsequently placed it in the crawl space under the carpeted floor. Her presence seemingly didn't bother him, because he didn't move out of that room until three or four weeks later. Both girls' bodies were eventually found after other guests complained about the stink.

In Mineola, New York, motel in 1988, a body turned up in a box spring. The remains of a 29-year-old woman were found at the Oceanside Motel. Again, the body was discovered days later and only after other patrons complained about the smell. At least two other guests unknowingly cohabited with the body before it was found, and at least one guest refused to stay in that room because of the smell.
This legend was used in the 1995 Quentin Tarantino film "Four Rooms"

Make Me Laugh Monday 9/26/11

Raining Cats and Frogs!!!

Okay, so it may not be raining cats but it definitely rains frogs occasionally and it's been reported all over the world. You may have seen it rain frogs on such TV shows as The X-Files. The most likely explanation made by meteorologists is that a near-by wind storm sucked them up and after moving them many miles, spits them back out again. You decide for yourself where these little guys come from.

In the summer of 1926, a young caddie at a local golf course recorded this "frog fall". here had been a drought that summer and the fairways were brown and dried up. One afternoon, a sudden storm came up and a terrific thunderstorm followed. Rain came down in torrents and with it frogs about the size of nickels. They were alive and jumping and there were thousands of them. The golfers and the young man couldn't believe their eyes as they watched thousands of frogs rain down from the sky.
W.A. Walker, Evansville Indiana (Camden, Arkansas News 1-2-1973.

"I was raised on a farm in Minnesota, and as a boy, I remember a storm coming up. It looked serious, so we ran to the cellar. Afterwards we went outside and saw our chickens eating tiny frogs and fishes!"
F.J. McManus, Laguna Beach, California

"About 35 years ago while I was driving through a thunderstorm near Hershey,Pennsylvania, dozens of tiny frogs came down and pelted the hood of my automobile."
D.F. Garner, Baltimore, Maryland

According to the July 27th, 1981 Bedfordshire Times (Bedford, UK), a Mrs. Vida McWilliam of Bedford found her garden hopping with little frogs after a rain storm. Mrs. McWilliam wrote:
"I can't remember the exact date but it was June of 1979. One Sunday we had a really wet day, rain lashing down and very windy! It was damp and humid the next day as well. On my patio, near the caged area for my cat, I noticed what looked like half-grown tadpoles. To my surprise, there were little green frogs everywhere! It must have rained frogs that Sunday! Later in the week my grand daughter and I went down to the garden to cut the lawn and it was amazing! The grass was covered in little green frogs and on the bushes hung spawn. We collected up the frogs and took them to the garden. All summer my grandchildren and I carefully watched them as they made a home under the potting shed. I'm afraid last year, (1980) we only had three left but they had grown to full size."

Monday Meet And Greet- Mom Mart

Mom Mart

Your Name: Laura Andry

Where do you blog?: Mom Mart http://MomMart.blogspot.com

How did you decide on what to name your blog?: I am a stay at home mother with two little boys. My husband always jokes around about how certain "jobs" around the house are mine and fall under my job description. I told him I felt like one of those superstores that is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, and that he could just refer to me as MomMart from now on.

Tell us a little bit about you:

I am a stay at home mother with a 5-month-old baby boy and a 2 1/2 -year-old little boy. My boys are 100% boy 100% of the time and I love it! I have been happily married to my best friend going on five years now and couldn't feel more blessed. I am a Christian and thank the Lord everyday for all the blessings in my life. I am a glass half full type of girl who looks for the humor in every situation. I am an organizational neat freak who loves being crafty and creative. I have been blogging since April 2011 after deciding that I wanted to try my hand at writing. So far, it has been a lot of fun.

Tell us five of your favorite things and five of your least favorite things:

5 Favorite Things:

My family- I love my entire family, they are my best friends. I have a great relationship with my in-laws and truly love spending time with each and every member of my family.

Baby Gear - I am completely addicted!

Vacations where I don't have to drive - if I have to drive it is not a vacation.

The smell of apples - yummy!

Pedicures- nothing makes me feel more pampered than pretty toes.

5 Least Favorite:

Rude People- I have no idea where manners have vanished to, but they need to make a come back!

Heels - I strongly dislike wearing heels. They hurt my feet :(

Long lines - really, no need to explain.

Getting lost - I feel incredibly vulnerable when I am lost.

Asking for help - I am stubborn and like to think that I can do anything and everything on my own and I rarely ask for help, even when I need it. It is a big fault of mine.

When and why did you start blogging?: I started seriously blogging in April 2011 after having suffered from mastitis. I had no idea what was wrong with me and I was frightened. I had a hard time finding information about this subject and decided that I would share my experiences with others and put my information out there. I wanted to write and this was what really pushed me to start doing it.

What do you blog about?: I guess it is more accurate to ask me what I don't blog about. I share my experiences and my perspectives as a stay at home mom. I talk about breastfeeding, potty training, family friendly activities, crafts for kids, blog hops, product reviews, giveaways, and have recently started adding quick and easy recipes. I essentially share my life.

What is your favorite blog post ever?: Potty Training William Continued http://mommart.blogspot.com/2011/08/potty-training-william-continued.html I think my whole potty training experience is too funny. I laugh every time I think about it.

Ben and I love to cook.  We don't get to do it as much as we would like, but we love it!!!

Ben is always experimenting with new foods and creative ways to make them.  He was sooooo excited when I showed him the Tavern Direct Sauces I got to review!!

We started our fun with the 1870 Steak Sauce.

We figured that sense we were using a prestigious marinade, that we would use a good cut of meat.  We bought Fillet Mignon

We cooked the steak on the stove for a little while to brown it, and then I oven baked it with the sauce.  Oh my was that really good!!!

A couple days later we tried the Golden Ginger Teriyaki!!

We made Chicken Shish Ka Bobs.  Another absolutely delicious dish.  Grilling the chicken and veggies with the teriyaki was yummy!!  It had just the right amount of sweet and sour to it.

Last but not least we made baked Halibut with the Cabernet & Grilled Garlic Sauce.

Ben is not a big fish eater, but he loves it with this sauce.  For me, I thought the sauce was a little too strong.  I liked it, but not as much as the others.  I am not a big vinegar person, and with this sauce to me it was too strong.

All in all, we really like the Tavern Direct Sauces, and we will be getting more.

You can also check out Tavern Direct on Facebook and Twitter.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
