Thank you to each and everyone of you who has been very patient with me. I know I have not been on here much lately.  I was not expecting this to be our heaviest Christmas Season ever. I have never seen or delivered so many packages before in my life!!! lol. If you haven't already, please make sure you say thank you to your Mail Carrier, UPS Driver and FedEx Driver. We all worked very, very hard to get you all your Christmas presents on time (and we are still working hard!!)

I am not sure about FedEx, but I know that the Post Office, and UPS will be delivering on Saturday and we will deliver any and all packages that we have for you (we will even be making a second run for just packages!!)

I am very, very behind on a lot of awesome posts, picking winners etc.  I promise that I will play catch up very soon, and I am very sorry that some of the prizes won't make it to you before Christmas.

Un Common Goods Review- Wine Lovers Gift Set

Our Vision

UncommonGoods (www.uncommongoods.com rel="nofollow" ) is an online marketplace offering creatively designed, high-quality merchandise at affordable prices. At UncommonGoods, we believe that creativity and the expression of individuality represent two great human treasures. We have set out to create a business that makes uncommon goods accessible to everyone.

Founded in August 1999, UncommonGoods is privately held and headquartered in New York City.

Uncommon features and presentation

UncommonGoods presents shoppers with an array of special features that make shopping at UncommonGoods an entertaining, convenient, and uncommon experience. These features include:

•Featured Artist: UncommonGoods highlights the stories of our artists and designers throughout our website as well as our print catalog.

• Handmade Goods: Look for the blue hand icon throughout the website to find our handmade goods.

•Uncommon Knowledge: UncommonGoods posts surprisingly uncommon information and facts related to certain product categories or featured items on the site. For example, did you know that early candles were often eaten rather than burned? Or that Leonardo da Vinci invented the scissors?

• Our Commitment to the Environment: UncommonGoods strives to work in harmony with the environment: our print catalogs are printed on recycled paper (30% post-consumer waste) and our goal is to sell no product that harms humans or animals. Look for the green recycled icon throughout our website for products made of recycled materials.

•Better to Give Program: We donate a portion of each order to your choice of non-profit organizations: American Forests, AmeriCares, City Harvest, and the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN).

With the Holidays upon us, everyone is searching for those great, and unique gifts.

If you are looking for something a little different from the same old, then check out Uncommongoods.com.

They have a wide variety of gifts from dishware, to books, jewelery and even gifts for those wine lovers on your list!!!

I got the pleasure of reviewing The Fondue Set for Two, Wine For Two Wine Rack, and their Wine Bottle Cheese Platter.

We are a huge cheese eating family, and having the fondue set is great.

I melted the cheese in the microwave first.  I was nervous that a tea light could not melt the cheese.  After awhile of sitting there, the candle did keep the cheese nice and warm.  It is made out of ceramic, which I think helps retain the heat.

The Wine glass holder is a really neat simple design as well.  It is very easy to use, looks cute on my counter, and it holds two glasses and a bottle.

I really liked the cheese platter!!!  It is shaped like a flattened bottle, and after using it, I hung it on the wall.  It looks great!!

So for those hard to buy for, have everything, or you just have no clue what to get people on your list, check out Un Common Goods.  You just might get all your shopping done in one place!!!

**All opinions expressed are 100% my own.  I was not compensated for this post.  I did receive the above items for the purpose of this review**

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Say Anything Game Review

Gather your friends and put your opinions to the test in this hilarious game. Made for three or more players, this game is played by answering fun personal questions and then voting on favorite answers.
•Say Anything is a light-hearted game about what you and your friends think; it will have people talking and laughing in minutes

•First, you ask a question from the card you draw, such as "What’s the best movie of all time?"

•Everyone else writes an answer and turns it face-up; then, you secretly choose your favorite one

•Lastly, everyone tries to guess which answer you picked

•Awards: 2008 Major Fun Major Fun Award
•Manufacturer's Suggested Age: 13 Years and Up
•Includes: Cards
•Material: Cardboard
•Playing Time: 30-60 Minutes
•Number of Players: 3 or More Players
•Level of Difficulty: Easy
•Languages: English

This is a lot of fun!!!  We gathered a bunch of family and friends (there were 10 of us) and had a blast.

Some of the creative answers that came up were interesting!!

How it works is one person asks a question from the cards, then the other people write their answers down on cards.  The person asking the question picks their favorite and all the other players guess what they picked.

We actually played it a bunch of different ways.  Sometimes we gave points for people answering the same way etc.  This is a very versatile game!!!

If you are looking for a fun game to play with your family and friends, give Say Anything a try!!  This would also make a perfect gift for those hard to buy for folks!!

You can get it at Target (in store and online,) Toys R Us (in store and online,) and at Barnes and Noble (in store and online!)

FastMall App For Android

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FastMall for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love Christmas.  I love shopping.  I hate crowds!!!

I avoid the malls like the plaque as much as possible.  I do have to go a couple of times around Christmas, but I go during weird hours (like first thing in the morning on a Monday, or late at night on Tuesday)

We have an ok sized mall near us that has the must shop at stores (Target, Walmart, Bath and Body Works!!) but I do like to explore other malls.  Especially in Boston and New York!  I just don't like the feeling of being lost, and not knowing where to go.

FastMall is a new app that can help with the feeling of being lost (or if you really are!!)  It is a GPS for a mall!!  It will tell you where you are, what stores are around you, and where to find them.  This is a huge help for anyone in a mall that they have never been to before.  It is also a blessing if say you loose a person, you can now find them easier.

You can get FastMall for Android and FastMall for iPhone.

I highly recommend checking out the app and seeing if it's for you!!

Make Me Laugh Monday 12/12/11

This is funny, but also kind of sad!!

Politically Correct Santa

'Twas the night before Christmas and Santa's a wreck...
How to live in a world that's politically correct?

His workers no longer would answer to "Elves,"
"Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves.

And labor conditions at the north pole
Were alleged by the union to stifle the soul.

Four reindeer had vanished, without much propriety,
Released to the wilds by the Humane Society.

And equal employment had made it quite clear
That Santa had better not use just reindeer.

So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid,
Were replaced with 4 pigs, and you know that looked stupid!

The runners had been removed from his sleigh;
The ruts were termed dangerous by the E.P.A.

And people had started to call for the cops
When they heard sled noises on their roof-tops.

Second-hand smoke from his pipe had his workers quite frightened.
His fur-trimmed red suit was called "Unenlightened."

And to show you the strangeness of life's ebbs and flows,
Rudolf was suing over unauthorized use of his nose

And had gone on Geraldo, in front of the nation,
Demanding millions in over-due compensation.

So, half of the reindeer were gone; and his wife,
Who suddenly said she'd enough of this life,

Joined a self-help group, packed, and left in a whiz,
Demanding from now on her title was Ms.

And as for the gifts, why, he'd ne'er had a notion
That making a choice could cause so much commotion.

Nothing of leather, nothing of fur,
Which meant nothing for him. And nothing for her.

Nothing that might be construed to pollute.
Nothing to aim. Nothing to shoot.

Nothing that clamored or made lots of noise.
Nothing for just girls. Or just for the boys.

Nothing that claimed to be gender specific.
Nothing that's war-like or non-pacific.

No candy or sweets...they were bad for the tooth.
Nothing that seemed to embellish a truth.

And fairy tales, while not yet forbidden,
Were like Ken and Barbie, better off hidden.

For they raised the hackles of those psychological
Who claimed the only good gift was one ecological.

No baseball, no football...someone could get hurt;
Besides, playing sports exposed kids to dirt.

Dolls were said to be sexist, and should be passe;
And Nintendo would rot your entire brain away.

So Santa just stood there, disheveled, perplexed;
He just could not figure out what to do next.

He tried to be merry, tried to be gay,
But you've got to be careful with that word today.

His sack was quite empty, limp to the ground;
Nothing fully acceptable was to be found.

Something special was needed, a gift that he might
Give to all without angering the left or the right.

A gift that would satisfy, with no indecision,
Each group of people, every religion;

Every ethnicity, every hue,
Everyone, everywhere...even you.

So here is that gift, its price beyond worth...
"May you and your loved ones enjoy peace on earth."

12 Days Of Christmas ~~Giveaway~~ Hop Day 10- Ambition Is Not A Dirty Word Book

Photobucket

I am very excited to bring to you a National Best Seller and Oprah Selects book!!!

Today I am giving 10 lucky readers the chance to read Dr. Debra Condren's book Ambition Is Not A Dirty Word: A Woman's Guide To Earning Her Worth and Achieving Her Dreams.  This is a signed copy too!!!

This will be a great read for all of us!!  (Review coming soon!!)

Wouldn’t it be great if you could be audaciously ambitious and happy at the same time?
You can, and you will.

“I’m here to tell you that all of your priorities—personal and ambitious career goals alike—can fit together harmoniously. I’ll show you how, like thousands of women I’ve worked with over the years, you can make more money, earn the credit and recognition you deserve, have more power, and be as ambitious as you want to be. I’ll show you how you can be ambitious without compromising your ethics and integrity. I’ll show you that you can feel worthy and entitled to all of this without fear that you risk sacrificing your desire to have a full, happy personal life and without being afraid that you’ll be less of a woman. It’s worked for me. It’s worked for countless ambitious women I’ve advised. It will work for you.”
—From Ambition is Not a Dirty Word: A Woman's Guide to Earning Her Worth and Achieving Her Dreams

We women aren’t advancing in our careers the way we should. We’re not making the money we deserve or getting the fulfillment we desire. And this time it’s not men who are holding us back. This time we’re doing it to ourselves, because ambition—for us—is still a dirty word.

Debra Condren has coached thousands of women at every level—from those just starting out to the most powerful female executives in the United States—and each one possesses the same fear: if she goes after her dream, she’ll be seen as selfish, bitchy, a bad wife, or bad mother. But it’s exactly this fear of ambition that has forced women to leave the best part of themselves—their dreams, their great talents—by the roadside, rendering them less able to be the whole people they should be in every area of their lives.

Condren has a new message and mission: to remind women that ambition is a virtue, not a vice. Ambition is the best of who we are.

The real way to have a great life is to see ambition as a part of your value system to which you must give equal attention, along with the other priorities you hold dear, including your spouse, your children, and your friends. In Ambition is Not a Dirty Word, Dr. Condren offers fresh, powerful tools for reclaiming your dreams. Her eight Ambitious Rules provide concrete, innovative solutions to the everyday struggles we as women face, like taking credit, deflecting detractors, and handling confrontation, so that you can become more powerful and fulfilled at work and more satisfied at home. You can redefine your ambition in the face of social sanctions and unapologetically go after your dreams without sacrificing the rest of your life.

You owe it to yourself and the world to make the contribution you were born to make. Debra Condren will show you how to do it.

The New LG Double Play Smart Phone

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of LG DoublePlay™ for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love to check out the latest on phones.  I want to be tech savvy but no matter how hard I try, I just can't understand everything.

I bought myself a new phone on Black Friday (I had to buy myself something!!) and I am still trying to figure out how to use it.

Luckily for me my Sister is up to date on all the newest things, so she is explaining to her old tech challenged Sister what to do!!

The LG DoublePlay™ has dual customizable touch screens and has a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and Swype® for easy text input.  I am just learning how to use Swype.  It's pretty neat.  You can just hold down on the touch screen keyboard and the screen automatically writes words for you.  It is a nice feature for folks with thicker fingers like me.  I can never touch the right keys, and I send the weirdest text messages sometimes!!  I need to be quick and have it be easy.  I text my Husband 20-30 times a day, and need the speed!!

LG DoublePlay allows users to perform multiple tasks at once such as updating their Facebook pages while simultaneously surfing the Web, texting or checking email.

The LG DoublePlay also comes with a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recorder, allowing users to capture and share pictures and videos via messaging, email or Facebook. I love that the phone comes with a flash.  Mine doesn't.  This is great for catching those night time photos (like Christmas lights!!)

Other really neat features of the DoublePlay include multiple messaging options, like Cloud Text and Group Text.  With these features you can send and receive texts from a PC or tablet or create group chats on-the-go for faster, more efficient content sharing. It also is part of the Android server and has Android Market, where you can get some really cool apps!!  The phone has seven home screens and you can have up to nine widgets on each screen for easy access to things like facebook, twitter, linkedin etc!!

If you are looking for a new phone that will help you on the go (especially when you are at events) this is the way to go!!  It will make all your social media needs much, much easier!!

This phone is available exclusively at T-Mobile!!
