Oz The Great And Powerful Opened Today And My Review!! #DisneyOz

I grew up singing "Follow The Yellow Brick Road" and "We're Off To See The Wizard."  One of my all time favorite rides in Disney World is The Great Movie Ride which has the famous scene where Dorthy first meets the munchkins and the evil witch.

The original movie means a lot to me.  Even my boys love it.  They just don't like the witch very much!!

In true Disney Fashion we were not disappointed by Oz!!!  They took a terrific movie and made it even better!!!

Disney kept to the traditional feel of the original movie, and started this one out in black and white (which confused my boys) and then brought everything to life with brilliant color and spectacular 3-D.  As my Mom described it, the 3-D was as good as all of the 3-D shows you can see in Disney World.  I have seen a lot of movies in 3-D and this by far was the best yet!!

Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmannuel Ambroise Diggs (yes that is his full name) is a struggling magician who is also a ladies man!!  When he finds himself in some series trouble, he hops into a hot air balloon and bee lines it away, only to find himself in a tornado!!!

Once the tornado sets down, Oz finds himself in a land he has never seen before.  He soon meets a women who explains to him that they have been waiting for him to fulfill a prophecy and he is supposed to save The Land Of Oz from the evil witch.

Things are not quite what they seem, and Oz needs to prove to the good people of Oz that he truly is a wizard.  He uses smoke, mirrors, and even a little magic to gain their trust and try to save the day.

With beautiful Art, Animation, and Acting, this is a must see movie!!  I am going to take the boys to see it again tomorrow!!!

Oh and just to give you a heads up, there are two scenes in the movie where I actually teared up.  I do not want to spoil it, but you may want to have a tissue in your pocket just in case!!

When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot—fame and fortune are his for the taking—that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late.
