A Big Apology

As you have all noticed, I have not been on here much these last couple weeks.  There have been a lot of things going on for me.

First I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year!!  I hope everything is great so far!!

Now to explain where I have been and what I have been doing.

Ben Sr started a new job last month, and with it came hundreds of challenges.  His schedule changes constantly, he works 10 hour shifts (and its a two hour commute each day)  He also still works for UPS, and with the holidays he was gone 18-20 hours a day.  With his new schedule, he wasn't getting home until 1-2 am each day.  With him being gone, I now became a "single" parent.  Ben Jr is in school, but Doug is not.  That being said, I was now running around a lot more then before (Ben Sr is a great Dad and helped out a lot.)  I was also not getting any sleep.  Ben and I have been together over 13 years now, and I can count on one hand how many nights we have slept apart.  So with him being at work, I could not sleep.  We were both barely surviving the day.

On top of the constant scheduling issues, of course there were the holidays.  With Ben gone to work, I had to go shopping all by myself (well with two kids.)  Nothing is harder then trying to Santa shop with little ones saying "I want that" "Is that for me?" etc.  Then I had to find time to wrap as well.

I know this all sounds silly and I am just whining, but there is more.

As you know I have some health issues, and these last couple weeks, they have gotten a lot worse.  On top of a lot of stomach issues, I had to go to the dentist and get a root canal.  At first things were fine with that, but then I ended up with a nasty infection.  So add stomach issues with a throat infection and you get one cranky, cranky lady!!  Oh and to make matters much worse, I also developed a sinus infection that spread to my ears.  So picture this- duel ear infections, sinus infection, migraines, severely closed off mouth, and upset tummy.  Not a good combination!!  It has gotten better, but I had to go back to the dentist two days ago to take the next step with my root canal, and again my mouth is very sore.  The kids love it, because now mommy can't yell at them!!!

As you have probably realized over the years, I love my puppy.  She will be 13 this year, and she is not a dog to me, she is my daughter!!  That is how it has always been with my family.  Pets mean a lot to us.  My Mom is very much the same as me.  One week before Christmas, she had to make the very tough decision of putting her baby to sleep.  Rocky was a 15 year old poodle.  In his hay day he was the life of the party.  He would beat up my Sisters by pulling their hair, and many times he would rat on me when I would come in late at night.  He would hide and jump out at me to scare me and make me scream!!  He was a brat, but he was family!!  It was very hard on all of us to say goodbye.  It really made me think about the Sam.  She is almost 13.  It scares you.

So with all of this going on, and throw in two large snow storms to boot, I just have not had the time or energy to work on here.  I want to apologize for my lack of writing.  I hate being away, but as I have told others many times, Family should and will always come first.

Thank you all for understanding.  I really did miss you all, and I hope your Holidays were blessed with friends, family and really yummy food!!!  Bare with me as I get back into the swing of things!!

Wow! That's a lot going on at once. It's hard enough to try to do it all during the holidays but add on top of that being sick. Glad you are back. Hopefully it warms up around here soon.

I hope that everything settles down for you soon. I have been sick like that without the tooth problems, but luckily I didn't have anyone that I had to take care of.
