Although the T-shirt had been around since the late 1800s primarily as a man’s undergarment, it wasn’t until the mid-20th century that it became acceptable as casual outerwear. Coinciding with America’s entry into World War II, it’s believed the first “message” T-shirts – as favoured by the military – started to become commonplace, often denoting a particular training establishment. Post-War, along with Levi’s jeans and sneakers, the T-shirt became a sartorial staple, a look, exemplified by 50s movie stars such as James Dean and Marlon Brando, that has never really gone away. Buoyed by a burgeoning youth market and fuelled by the twin proponents of music and fashion, the pop culture revolution of the 1960s saw the emergence of the “statement” tee. Occasionally controversial, frequently political and usually intended to be humorous, there was and still is no easier way to get your point across.

Made from 100% cotton, the t-shirt is very comfortable.
The cute monkey design on it has with-held four washings so far. The design hasn't faded at all.
