Texas Blue Book Review

I am posting my review again, because silly me posted it on the wrong date!! (Sorry Jodi!!)

When Texas Ranger Duncan McMurray tells gambler Lewton Paterson that he's sending three men from good families to court his three cousins, Lewton, wishing for a respectable life and family, decides to take the place of one of the men. He meets the three ladies, but spends his time with Em, the ranch overseer-who is really one of the ladies and never intends to marry.

When news reaches the ranch of Duncan's capture in Mexico, Lewt and Em set out to save him. Tension rides high, mixed with humor and kisses more passionate than most full-on love scenes.

This is the second book I have read by Jodi Thomas, and she just keeps getting better!!

This is a book from her Whispering Mountain series.

Lewton Paterson is a gambler. He never learned how to be a "respectable gentleman" and just floats around day to day.

When his friend Duncan lets him know about a plot he has to marry off his three cousins, Lewt is intriged. He decides to take the place of one of the men, and see if he can marry into the good society.

Instead of bonding with one of the three cousins, Lewt becomes "friends" with one of the worker girls, Em.

Little does Lewt know, that Em has a secret. Em also has no idea that Lewt is a gambler.

Reading along with the way the two bond, and the things they overcome, was spectacular.

This was a true love story in all sense of the words.

If you like love stories set back in time (18oo's) you will love this book.

A note from Jodi Thomas-

TEXAS BLUE is filled with adventure and laughter. The proper young ladies are not what Lewt expected. The raid at the border is based on a raid that happened in 1875 that the Texas Rangers still talk of, though today the line between fact and legend blurs. When I mixed the two stories running at once, they made a great mix.

I hope readers will love this story as much as I loved writing it. Though TEXAS BLUE was my 31st book, I was a little surprised that I still love writing as much as ever. Some stories come easy, some seem more like work, but with this one all I did was turn on the laptop and hang on. The story took off all on its own. My characters were so strong at some points they took over the story.
