HAS ANYONE HEARD OF FLAKELET.COM?

I received an email from a lady at flakelet.com to see if I would be interrested in having them sponsor my blog.

I went to their site, and from what I understand, I would make posts about articles they write, and they would advertise my site as doing the post on 2000 other blog sites.

Here is part of the email she sent-

"Every day, we write in-depth articles on a number of topics. We will be happy to let you use our articles for free either:

1. “as is”
2. You can change them as much (or as little) as you wish and you will own the copyright
3. As a starting point for your own writing

Furthermore, anytime you use our content, we will promote your site across our network of 2,000+ blogs.

The only thing we ask in return is a single link to our sponsor, because that’s what pays for our efforts.

The database of our articles is at www.flakelet.com, where you can also learn more about how we work. You can find lots of original, unique and interesting articles on various topics that you can use of.

This is a free offer and a great opportunity to increase traffic with no cost at all and in an effortless way. Should you decide to accept our offer for free use of articles, the procedures are found at flakelet.com."

Has anyone worked with this company before?? I would like to have a little more information before I make a decision.

Thanks everyone for your help!!

Bummer. Now I wonder. I got the same email from a girl named Mitzi or something...I guess I read into it as them telling me what to write or write about and I'm not completely cool with that whole idea, but I am still undecided on the thing.

Hi Lindsay,

I got that same email and responded asking for more information. The email I got back from Mitzi was included in this post. I wasnt sure what to think. I get alot of junk mail, and its hard to figure out what is legit sometimes!!! I dont think I will work with them, just incase it isnt legit and I agree about the whole writing something that someone tells you. I dont like that either.

Thanks,

Sarah

I got that email, too. And decided to pass. I'm not sure about where they are then advertising it. I don't like having to make a link back to their sponsor. From what I read, they were saying that they were helping us by giving us topics for blog posts- but I haven't had a problem so far...and I can always look on the internet/tv/etc if I get stuck.

If you decide to do it, I'd love to hear how it goes.

I was also contacted by them and after reading the email I received with more info, decided to pass on it.

Thank you all. I have deceided to pass on it as well. It just sounds too fishy for me!!!

Me too. After consider their articles which are mostly not related to my blog...

I received the same email. I found this post while Googling for more info. I agree with you and the commenters here - I don't want to publish articles written by sponsors - I give my opinion on my blog, and if someone wants a link they can pay me in dollars, not the promise of free advertising.

I received this as well.

Looks like they hit quite a few blogs which to me is a sign of something fishy for sure.

I'm passing as well.

Sarah - Thanks for the post, I just received the same email and was wondering if it was a scam. I also got one from Blogertise. Heard of that one?

Just wanted to stop by and say I got the same email. While doing a search about them, your post came up. I think it sounds fishy. - Parajunkee

I've heard from them twice. Obviously, they want something for nothing. And I'm way too busy creating my own blog content to consider rerunning someone's else's.

I think they're a study in meta-chutzpah.

I just got that email like everybody else apparently. Glad you posted this!

I've just got the same email too! And I did a little research on it, I find this info to be particularly useful. Thanks for the sharing!

The website is a scam. They claim their duplicate content won't do your website harm, but notice if you Google them you find my site at #1 explaining how their site is a scam, and their own website is nowhere to be found (they've been banned by Google).

Says all you need to know really.

Well, they're still doing it 'cause I just got my email today. I Googled and came across another guy with a lot of sites and he said it's a scam. Then I came here to read your post. I thought it a little fishy and went to their site to see what I could gather without registering. I'm going to pass as well, but I'm going to continue to read to see if anyone has actually used them.
