Extreme Couponing Season 2 First Episodes

Ok so I watched both new episodes.  The first one wasn't too bad.

The first lady was crazy with her stock pile.  She had a separate locked room just for cookies and candy.  Who needs that much junk food??

When she went on her shopping trip, she still used an absurd amount of coupons that no store would ever really take, and she bought more junk food, but all in all she wasn't the worst I have ever seen.

The second couponer was actually two ladies competing to see who could save the most percentage wise.  The lady who lost bought more reasonable items.  The one who won bought 100 candy bars.  Again who needs that much junk, and what store allows you to use that many coupons??

The second new episode started out with a lady who was trying to help her sister spend the least amount for her wedding.  A noble thing to do.

This women also had a ridiculously large stock pile (to me its hoarding)  She had a lot of items that will expire rather quickly.

When they go shopping she was buying reasonable items, but she had to do it in 16 separate transactions.  That's kind of crazy!!!

It was very nice that she did all that for her sister's wedding.

The second couponer learned from her Grandmother which might not be a good thing.

I am assuming that her Grandmother grew up during war time, so of course they stocked up and kept everything.  My Husbands Nana was like that.  When she passed away and we helped clean out her house, she had meat in her freezer that was at least 30 years old.

This women was taught to have at least a years worth of stuff.  Meat can only last for 6 months in the freezer.  So either they are eating it with in that time, or they are eating bad meat.

She again has an extremely large stock pile that to me seems way too much.

When they go shopping, they are making 21 separate orders.  I have done 5 separate orders (and there was three of us) in one trip before, but not 21.

They bought 80 tubes of toothpaste.  Toothpaste does go bad.  Who needs that much??

They also bought 32 bottles of soda.  That is an awful lot of sugar.

How much is too much??  What do you think??

I agree with you, fine line between stockpiling and hoarding.

Coupons are a great way to save money but, yes, agreed people do take it to the next level!
