This is such a cute book!!
Barbara Bryan has a lot of adorable kid friendly holiday poems. My 4 yr old loved all the Halloween poems.
This is his (and My) favorite-

"The Haunted House

We see the haunted house

sitting at the top of the hill.

When the moon is full

it gives us quite a thrill.

What I love the most

is when we see the ghost.

You must not get too close

even though he is the host.

The others cannot be seen

on this scary Halloween."

"Barbara Bryan's newly released volume of poetry teaches children about the best loved
holidays from Valentine's day through Christmas with a collection of twenty short poems
accompanied by charming, full color illustrations.

Novato, CA - Apr 30, 2010 - Barbara Bryan's new collection of poetry, Holiday Poems
for Children, takes young readers on a rhymed tour of the most loved holidays of the year
in order to introduce her juvenile audience to the holidays, their history and the characters
associated with them.

The twenty poems and full color illustrations in this collection offer young readers an
entertaining introduction to Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and
Christmas. Leprechauns, and of course, Santa Claus, populate these lines of rhymed
verse that help children remember each holiday by playing the game of repeating the fun-
to-say lines.

Designed to enlighten children on the true significance of these traditional holidays,
which for many have now become merely a day off, Holiday Poems for Children can be
used not only as a teaching tool itself, but as a means for prompting further discussion
about the importance of these age old celebrations and for enhancing a child's
appreciation of them.

Bryan's collection of imaginative verse and charming illustrations honors the most loved
holidays and provides a treasury of rhymed narratives about them which young children
and young readers alike will want to go over time and time again.
