Instead of a Make Me Laugh Monday post today, I wanted to write a short post about the recent tragedy/travesty in Connecticut.
I live in Massachusetts, so Connecticut is my neighbor. I honestly do not know what to say.
What those poor people are going through is something no one should ever have to deal with. It was a senseless tragedy. Being a Mother of two small children (one in 1st grade) I can not imagine what those poor parents are going through. The Children are innocent victims, and so are all of the teachers and staff.
Watching all of the coverage and hearing about it, has upset myself and many other parents. My heart is broken for all of the people affected by this. No parent should ever have to face the loss of a Child, especially in such a senseless and disgusting manor.
I am very proud of how the staff did everything they could to protect the Children. Some lost their lives making sure that the kids were safe. Those folks did not deserve this fate. In my eyes they died as hero's and should be treated as such.
I received a phone call from my sons school tonight letting us know that security measures will be re-enforced and that the school will do everything in their power to make sure our Children are well taken care of. It is very sad that this has to take place, but it does make me feel better to know that Ben Jr is safe when he is away from me for those 7 hours.
My deepest sympathies go out to any and all who are affected by this. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
