Loving Your Children No Matter What #TimothyGreen

Recently I read a book about a women who had a premature baby. To me, she had an extremely bad reaction that no Mother should ever have. When she first saw her baby, who was only 1 lbs 11 oz, she threw up. She kept saying over and over again that she could not handle this, and it was not supposed to happen to her.

Here is a picture of my oldest Ben Jr, when he was first born.

Ben Jr weighed 1 lbs 7 oz. He spent 86 days in the Nicu. We went through a 1000 different scares from cancer, to major organ trouble, to even death. We spent each day counting Ben's weight gain in grams and ounces. Not once in all of that time did we ever think anything but love for him. We were beyond happy the first time we got to hold him, change his diaper, and the biggest milestone was getting to feed him for the first time.

We are extremely thankful every day that Ben is 100% healthy and happy now. He is spoiled rotten, but he is still a very good boy!!

When we found out about our surprise baby Doug, I will admit we hoped for a "normal" pregnancy. That didn't quite happen. Doug was born at 2 lbs 2 oz.

Doug's time in the Nicu was shorter then Ben's (64 days) but we still spent every day with him, and were so happy to have him.

Again we are blessed that Doug is 100% healthy and spoiled rotten as well.

There has not been a day that has gone by where I don't say thank you to the powers that be who helped my boys become who they are!!

When asked if I had the chance to change anything about the circumstances of how my boys were born, I have to say no. Even though we had it rough in the beginning, they are perfect how they are!!

This post is inspired by The Odd Life Of Timothy Green which opens August 15th, and it is a must see for all parents!!

So sweet. I realize how scary this must be for many but you are wonderful parents that took it all in as part of your child's life. It's so heartwarming to see how both of your boys have grown so healthy and happy :)

How scary, but I'm so glad they got the help they needed so they could grow up healthy :)

And my daughter liked pointing at their pictures saying "bobby!" (her version of baby) :)
