A couple of years ago while Ben and I were on a cruise in the Bahamas, we came across Tortuga Rum Cakes. I had heard of Rum Cakes, but had never had one.
Ben was jumping for joy!! We bought the Golden Original rum cake, and brought it home to try.
The cake came wrapped in a sealed plastic bag to keep it moist. Once we got it opened and tried it, wow!!
Instantly you could smell the rum. All though there is less then .5% alcohol, the flavor is very strong and good. The cakes are extra moist, and melt on the tongue!!!
Recently Tortuga sent me another flavor of their cakes. This time I got to try their Key Lime.
I must say, I like the Key Lime better then the original. It has an extra added flavor to it, and it isn't as strong of a run taste. Ben still likes the original the best. I guess it all depends on how much you like rum, as to which one is better!!
Tortuga is also known for their Rum Treats, and Rum Coffee. Those are next on our list of things to try!!
