Hands down, my favorite show in the mornings growing up was The Price is Right. I used to look forward to summer break because that meant I could sleep in until 11:00 AM, and when I woke up, The Price is Right would be on. I’d sit on the couch with my cereal and watch that show every single day. I loved Bob Barker. I loved yelling out prices at the contestants. I loved picking out a favorite contestant and hoping he would win. If that contestant happened to win extra money when he spun the wheel? My entire day was made. I was absolutely terrified, regardless of how many times my mom told me otherwise, that our Bassett Hounds were neither spayed nor neutered (hint: I had no idea what that meant) and that this oversight on our part would prove to be disastrous. In short, I was a complete and total Price is Right groupie. I don’t get to watch it as much anymore now that I have a job, because I’m not sure the show’s greatness would translate that well via DVR. Plus, nothing against Drew Carey; I’m sure he’s a great guy, but I’m not sure anyone can live up to my beloved Bob Barker.
