Sarahs Simple Beef Stew
Swanson Health Products is currently running a great promotion. If you love to cook, and have a great recipe, then you can win a $100 gift certificate to their site!!
I decided to give it a shot. I have a couple signature dishes that I make and the boys love. This is one of our favorites.
Sarahs Simple Beef Stew
What you need-
2 lbs Beef Stew Meat
2 cans of White Kidney Beans (Try Cannellini White Kidney Beans)
2 cans of Diced Tomatos (Try Diced Tomatoes with Basil)
2 cans of Lima Beans (Try Butter Beans Organic)
5 lbs of Red Potatoes
1 lbs of Diced Carrots
2 cans of Mushrooms
3 Beef Bouillon Cubes
A couple gallons of water (I do this by site, sorry!!)
Salt and Pepper
Olive Oil (Try Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil)
My extra secret ingrediant (Red Robin Seasoning Salt!!)
Start by browning the stew meat in a pan with a little Olive Oil and some Red Robin Seasoning (use to your taste level).
Once meat is brown, add to water along with the bouillon cubes. I use a special roaster oven so I set the temp at 350*. If you are using a crock pot, set on high for about an hour, and then turn to the lowest setting. You want the meat tender!! I let the meat cook for at least 6 hours. You be the judge!!
Once the meat has been cooking for 6 hours (or until it is really tender) I add the potatoes and carrots and a little more Red Robin Seasoning.
Let the potatoes and carrots cook for about 45 minutes and then add the kidney beans, mushrooms and lima beans.
Wait another 15 minutes and add the diced tomatos.
I usually let it cook for about one more hour and then serve.
Use salt and pepper for taste!!
