The Laughalachian Trail Book Review
A thru-hike on the 2179-mile Appalachian Trail is like an experiential comedic play that lasts for months. Thru-hiking cast members are hairy, emaciated, hilarious. And it's not just their serial-killer look that makes them so funny. It's also their repartee, delusions of awesomeness, voluntary celibacy, dietary excesses, and so much more. This book celebrates hiker humor in all of its guises - surreal, frivolous, morbid, and even scatological.
This is my second book that I have read about thru hikers on the Appalachian Trail.
The stories these guys can tell are hilarious!!
Tom, trail name Ledge, has a host of adventures while he walks the trail. He meets with nice people, funny people, and just plain weird people as he walks from Maine south to Georgia.
Ledge gives you a step by step account of each state, and some tidbits from each!!
If you need a good laugh, this is the book for you!!
I give it 5 out of 5 stars, for hilarity and being a non stop page turner!!
You can get a copy of Toms book on Amazon for $16.95. Well worth it!!
