Outwitted Book Review

At the cozy lakeside resort in Northern Minnesota, flamboyant Sadie takes over the job of funeral director's helper after the murder of the previous assistant. Maybe flamboyant isn't a strong enough word to describe 64-year-old Sadie. Maybe feisty; maybe heroine, but for sure, a sassy, senior sleuth with moxie.

With fourteen cabins full of mostly "live" guests, a few pesky ghosts wander over from the mortuary next door. As they settle into Cabin 14, they're stunned to learn Sadie is their conduit to the hereafter. Clad in outlandish outfits (clothing typically reserved for those without sagging body parts), and sporting hairdos that make bystanders want to look away-but can't, Sadie must help them understand why they failed to "cross over." Messy! The dead can be quite stubborn.

Then.the funeral director's ex-husband rents Cabin 12, and the "fun" begins as he is a most raucous character who causes one outrageous funeral mishap after another-including a casket towed behind a Harley, a cell phone ring coming from a casket as it's lowered into the ground, and a revamped hearse that functions as the Witt's End Resort shuttle.

When skeletal remains are discovered under Cabin 12, Sadie and her sister set out to solve the murder and reveal a secret that ties a prominent community member to a notorious crime operation. They're forced to battle the ever-ticking clock to prevent further mayhem.

Now if the locals and the tourists could catch as many fish as there are shenanigans, the resort would be booked a year in advance.

Reel in an enormous catch of humor and mayhem, but BE WARNED.If you think Cabin 12 harbors a mystery, remember, don't check into Cabin 14, because no guest ever leaves alive!

About the author: Beth Solheim by day is a responsible human resources specialist, but by night, she morphs into a writer who frequents lake resorts and mortuaries. She's been known to host a ghost or two in her humorous paranormal mysteries.

Since the days her mother encouraged her love of reading, Solheim combines her healthy dose of curiosity, creativity, and the hankering to solve a puzzle to create an intriguing and fun read. With such an active imagination, and lucky for us, she has many stories left to tell.

Born and raised in Northern Minnesota, she lives with her husband and a menagerie of wildlife critters. Children are grown, and have produced two grandsons.

This book I really enjoyed.

It was hilarious and heart warming.

Beth wrote some great characters. Sadie is a very eccentric 64 year old women. She wears zebra stripped tight pants!!!

She also runs a mortuary and an inn on the same property!!

Sadie has a great cast of supporting characters to keep her at bay, including her Sister, a young boy and some Ghosts!!

If you love soft humor and a great couple mysteries, then this is the book for you!!
