I love to read all sorts of books, but I have to admit poetry is alot of fun for me.
When I was younger, I loved to write. Of course my Family said I was good at it, but other people did too.
So when I read poetry, it brings me fond memories and really draws my interest.
When I was given the chance to read Body Parts, I jumped at it!!!
There are many days (almost all of them!!) that I feel very old.
Janet Hoult really captures your true "old lady" feelings in her poetry.
Anything and everything from Hearing Loss to Teeth Loss to Major Weight Gain!!!!
This was my favorite poem out of the book-
Anymore
" I used to move and dance with ease
Now all I seem to do is Wheeze
With any effort made at all
I'm sure I'm going to take a fall
Just cant bend over anymore
It makes me sore to touch the floor
Hand me my grabber, if you please
And then I needn't bend my knees
That grabber helps me get around
And pick up stuff off of the ground
Stuff that I much too often drop...
I guess I'll never ever stop
Trying to do things I've always done
Yet having a problem with 'most every one.
See, I cant reach that high shelf
I think that I'm just not myself
Anymore."
