Holiday Gift Guide-Big Y Supermarket And Mountain States Rosen Review And ~~Giveaway~~

Looking back, it's hard to believe that anyone's dream could survive. It was 1936 and the Great Depression had driven millions of Americans out of work. Paul D'Amour, at 30 years old, was full of entrepreneurial spirit. He was a bread route salesman, earning $60 each week at Wonder Bread Baking Co. Paul dreamed of owning his own business. With a family loan of $800–their entire savings–along with help from his brother Gerry, Paul purchased the Y Cash Market for $2,500.

After 76 years, Big Y is now one of the largest independently owned supermarket chains in New England.

With the Holidays in full swing, I am constantly at the supermarket to get much needed items.  Every holiday I forget something important.  I swear it is a unintentional tradition!!

Big Y is famous for their buy 1 get 2 free sales.  These are when I stock up on things like laundry detergent, paper plates and cups, and a ton of frozen food items.

Sales at Big Y are terrific.  If you have a silver savings card, you save even more!!

Right now, Big Y has Mountain States Rosen's Cedar Springs Nature Veal Cutlets on sale for $8.99 a lb.  That is a really good price for Veal.

About Mountain States Rosen and Cedar Springs Nature Veal

Premium quality, the highest-rated food safety certification in the industry and unparalleled animal care here in the U.S. – that’s the Mountain States Rosen difference. As the only farmer-owned, fully vertically-integrated American lamb and veal company, MSR has control over the rigorous production, packaging and distribution process --able to back up their personal pledge for food safety, sustainability, best-quality, and consistency.

The MSR family of producers and growers adhere to responsible raising practices, land management and conservation and offer the finest portfolio of lamb and veal products.MSR’s fork-tender, velvety Cedar Springs Nature Veal is fresh from U.S. family farms, free of added hormones and artificial tenderizers and is full of important nutrients, like zinc, niacin, and vitamins B-12 and B-6

I bought some the other day, and made Veal Parmesan.  A simple, yet delicious recipe.  You can find some other great recipes here.

The Veal comes in perfect sized portions.  Take the Veal and coat it in eggs and Italian bread crumbs.

Bake at 350* for about 6-8 minutes.  It cooks really quick.  You have to watch it and judge for yourself.

When fully cooked, pull it out and add mozzarella cheese on top, then put it back in oven for one minute to melt it.

I served the Veal over spaghetti with marinara sauce.

Don't forget the mushrooms!!

I even made my own homemade garlic bread!!

When all was said and done, we had a delicious dinner!!

Big Y's sale on Mountain States Rosen's Cedar Springs Nature Veal Cutlets runs until December 19th.

How would you like to win a Big Y gift card for your own shopping needs?
